How authoritative would you be?

Say you run a forum, and on that forum and guy has been spamming for weeks. What do you do?

This is what I'd do. If he was caught spamming, I would warn him, if he continues, I'll give him a final warning. If he continues on, I'll ban him for 3 days. And I'm sure you see where I'll go from there.

I know giving a lot of chances isn't ideal to some, but I figure the banned will get the point eventually.

What would you do?

If it is obvious spam I ban him for ever immediately. If Im in doubt I wait or PM him/her first.
"Down here, I make the rules".

I would probably ban someone after the 2nd or 3rd offense. As long as the offense isn't really that bad. If it was offensive, rude and just downright dirty, it's an instant ban.
